BELLEVILLE—As the midnight strike deadline approaches, 十博官网在线 Local 1090 members are making final preparations for a picket line that will effectively close operations at the Belleville casino.
“We know this large gaming employer can do better than wages near the legal minimum—just take a look at their other unionized facilities,” said Jerry Dias, 十博官网在线 National President. “If they want to test us before signing a first collective agreement for these workers, we’re ready.”
Local 1090 members at Shorelines Belleville rejected the employer’s so-called “final offer” by 84% on October 20, 2021. The union represents 93 workers at the casino in table games, slots, food and beverage, kitchen and culinary, facilities and housekeeping, guest services, and cashiering.
Workers are set to begin strike action at 12:01 am on Friday, October 22, 2021.
